Mother's day is coming and it's the perfect opportunity to show our moms how much we appreciate their love, support and unwavering care! This week, we're featuring recipes that would make your Mother's Day celebration at home truly memorable.
Let's start of with some fresh, pinkish colored recipes that will surely catch mom's attention on her special day!
Design Dining Diapers teaches us how to make these amazingly cute heart fruit kabobs out of strawberries and watermelon slices.
Hearty Fruit Kabobs from Design Dining Diapers
The watermelon slices are cut using heart-shaped cookies cutters. Since strawberries already resemble hearts, only the top part is cut to enhance the shape.
Next on the list is a purplish magenta salad made from red cabbage. Natasha's Kitchen has a great recipe that does not only tickle the palate, but also satisfies the eyes with its vibrant color.
Exerting effort in making eye-striking dishes like this will surely be a treat for moms this Mother's Day!
1 medium head of purple cabbage
1 avocado, diced
For the Dressing:
3 Tbsp chopped Dill (fresh or frozen)
3-4 Tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil or flax seed oil
½ cup fresh squeezed (or good quality store-bought) Orange juice
Juice of 1 medium lemon (about 2 Tbsp)
¾ tsp salt; or to taste
¼ tsp freshly ground pepper, or to taste
The dressing of the salad is so refreshing with the mingling flavors of dill, parsley and citrus flavors of lemon and orange.
Another red-pinkish treat for moms is a sweet and yummy salad from Chef and Steward that features apples and beets.
