Homemade Ice Cream & Delicious Desserts You Can Make With It

Ice cream might just be one of the most popular desserts on the planet. Every region has its own special favorite flavor from a million varieties, may it be something universal like Vanilla or something exotic like ginger and black sesame.

If you're feeling adventurous about having ice cream incorporated with your favorite flavors, making your own is not as difficult as it sounds. Kevin and Amanda has a post about easy homemade ice cream made without an ice cream maker.

You can use homemade or store-brought ice cream to come up with other delicious treats right in your own kitchen. Just like this ice cream bread from In Katrina's Kitchen that's only made up of just two ingredients.

Cream puffs are usually filled with pastry cream. But why not take it to the next level and put ice cream inside the golden pastry? Seasons & Suppers has a good recipe for simple pastry puffs that you can use for your "ice cream cream puffs" (it comes with  a recipe for Cannoli filling, which tastes great at well).

Cannoli Cream Puffs from Seasons & Suppers
Pastry Puffs:
1 cup hot water
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 Tbsp. white sugar
1/2 tsp. salt (reduce to 1/4 tsp.if using salted butter)
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
Cannoli Filling:
1 1/4 cup whole milk ricotta (I wouldn't try the low-fat here)
1 1/4 cup mascarpone cheese
1/2 cup icing (confectioners) sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla

TIP: Use a silicone mat when making cream puffs to make it easier to take the off the baking pan.
