When shopping for asparagus, make sure that you get a bundle with plump and firm spears, with tips that are tightly closed. Fresh asparagus wouldn't have a faded color (unless it's white asparagus - a special variety well-loved in Western Europe).

Make cooking a lot easier and more enjoyable by using good quality silicone baking mats. Not only are silicone mats sturdy and durable. Because they're non-stick, you can also cut your clean-up time in half.
