Grilled Cheese might just be the cure-all solution for stressful days at work and school. It's a filling and tasty afternoon snack and just it's guaranteed to melt away your stress just like the gooey, creamy cheese that comes from within.

No wonder, this all-time favorite sandwich has its very own month-long food holiday. April is National Grilled Cheese Month and it's the perfect time to appreciate this simple and yummy treat.

It's never too late to learn the classic grilled cheese recipes and how to do it right. It's quite amazing how two pieces of bread, cheese and butter, and just the right amount of heat can transform ordinary ingredients into a perfect orchestration of salty, savory, cheesy, buttery, toasty goodness.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich (TasteSpotting)

If you're looking for a true-blue classic recipe, then this Grilled Cheese Sandwich from TasteSpotting is the perfect thing to make for your family. It's all back to basics - American cheese embraced by two pieces of white sandwich bread, buttered on both sides before being cooked in a hot skillet until the toast is golden brown and the cheese is melted to a delicious gooey dollop that everyone loves.

"We figured that before we get too creative (not that there isn’t any grilled cheese combination that hasn’t been done yet), we should start with a basic, all-American grilled cheese sandwich — just bread, butter, and cheese.”

  • 2 slices white sandwich bread
  • 2 slices American cheese or other cheese (we used mild cheddar and actually used 4 slices because we got greedy)
  • 1½ teaspoons softened butter

Crispy Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese Sandwiches (Heather Likes Food)

This Crispy Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese Sandwich recipe from Heather Likes Food is a great snack to make if you like grilled cheese sandwich, but you're looking for a nice kick of additional flavor. Cheese and garlic go very well together and the parsley gives this sandwich a subtle but delicious herb flavor. The additional grated Parmesan is a nice salty, cheesy touch!

"This really isn’t so much a recipe as it is a simple way to make a classic sandwich just a little bit sassier."

  • Sliced sandwich bread
  • Sliced Cheese of choice
  • Butter, softened or melted
  • Garlic powder
  • Dried parsley
  • Parmesan Cheese, shredded

Candied Whiskey Bacon Grilled Cheese Dippers (The Cookie Rookie)

This Candied Whiskey Bacon Grilled Cheese Dippers from The Cookie Rookie is a good recipe if you're having over guests and you want a richer and more impressive attack to the traditional grilled cheese. Made elegantly delicious by bacon with sweetened with bourbon, sugar and cayenne, this grilled cheese is a great sandwich to cut up into triangles and serve as an appetizer in parties.

"Bacon is great for all kinds of things (especially breakfast, BLT SKILLET FRITTATA), but my favorite pairing is for appetizers. It’s delicious chopped and thrown into dips, on its own, or wrapped around anything and everything. The bacon in these Candied Whiskey Bacon Grilled Cheese Dippers is the perfect complement to all that CHEESE."

  • 8 strips of Wright Brand Bacon
  • 1 cup whiskey or bourbon
  • 1 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 8 slices of your favorite bread, with the crust cut off
