There may be a whole lot of makeup innovations today - from BB creams to pore minimizing gels to HD foundation - but any makeup artist would tell you that nothing beats the glow of clear, healthy skin.
This National Fresh Fruits and Vegetables month, why not revisit what fresh produce can do to give you that youthful glow that no expensive makeup can come at par with?
Sally's Baking Addition has a recipe for a fruity treat called "Sunshine Smoothie" which offers a nice blend of banana, pineapple, orange and mango.
Sunshine Smoothie from Sally's Baking Addiction
1 frozen ripe banana, previously peeled & sliced
1/4 cup orange juice
2 oranges, peeled and sliced
1 cup frozen mango chunks
1/2 cup frozen or fresh pineapple chunks
There is almost always a green smoothie for every health issue anyone might ever have. Prevention has a green smoothie recipe that will do wonders for your skin and over-all health.
Super Green Smoothie from Prevention
1¼ c chopped kale leaves (stems and tough rib removed)
1¼ c frozen cubed mango
2 med ribs celery, chopped
1 c chilled fresh orange juice
¼ c chopped flat-leaf parsley
¼ c chopped fresh mint
Another fruity treat that is especially great to munch on on a hot, sunny day is Cook The Story's frozen watermelon. This could just be the most natural and easy-to-make frozen popsicle you can ever eat in your life! Best of all, Watermelon offers a lot of great benefits for your skin as it is rich in antioxidants.
If you want variety, you can easily turn your frozen watermelon into a fruity slush or a delicious granita just by using a food processor or even a fork and some elbow grease.
TIP: To freeze watermelon, lay slices on a baking sheet lined with silicone mat to make it easier to take them off the pan once frozen.
