Delicious Croissant Recipes

Croissant is the epitome of classic French baking - flaky, buttery, made with the finest ingredients and tedious technique. Only a few non-professional bakers dare to try making croissant at home. And it's quite understandable because of the elaborate process called "laminating" to make it flaky.

There's more than one way of making it, and you'll surely find one that you love the most - whether you prefer to have it gluten-free, easy-bake (with just three ingredients), or classic.

Here are three of the most delicious croissant recipes online for all you foodies out there. Happy baking!

 Unicorn Hot Chocolate {Dairy + Gluten Free} (Celery and the City)

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup half and half {Califia Farms Better Half has the same texture as heavy cream, but is a mix of almond and coconut milks}
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk {the refrigerated kind works best, canned is too thick for this}
  • 1/2 cup vegan white chocolate chips {King David vegan, lactose free white chocolate candy melts are the best tasting. If you can have dairy, I recommend Gihardelli}
  • Pinch of natural red food coloring {Color Kitchen beet root powder natural food coloring to get the pink color}

 Hot Chocolate on a Stick (Ever Mine Occasions)

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz baking chocolate
  • 1/4 cup of cocoa
  • 1/2 cup confectioners sugar

 The Best Vegan Hot Chocolate! (The Vegan 8)

Ingredients:

  • One 13.5 oz can "lite" coconut milk (this truly is the best milk to make hot chocolate, I would advise against subbing as others I've tried were not good. Lite leaves NO coconut taste!)
  • 2 tablespoons (12 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 heaping tablespoons (40 g) semi-sweet dairy-free chocolate chips (I used Enjoy Life)
  • 1 tablespoon (20 g) pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground espresso or instant coffee (you can leave out if you want, it just makes the chocolate flavor stronger)
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • Optional: whipped cream, shaved chocolate, marshmallows, etc.

Hot Breakfast Recipes

It may sound like a cliche, but it's true - breakfast is really the most important meal of the day. But sometimes (or oftentimes), there's just not enough time to have a full, sit-down breakfast. A bagel bought on the way to work or an apple from a basket on the counter top may be convenient on busy mornings, but there's no reason not to have a filling breakfast enjoyed at a leisurely pace at least once a week (hint: weekends).

This National Hot Breakfast Month, make sure to make your mornings a lot brighter by starting it with a tasty breakfast!
